Emanuel (Manny) Fasoli makes no bones about why he decided to buy land and construct a building in Fulton Industrial Park in Rocky View County.
“Taxes baby. Taxes,” says the owner of the building which houses Flatland Industries, which is run by his son.
“It’s ridiculous,” adds Fasoli of the difference in operating in the County compared to the higher taxes in the City of Calgary. “The land was cheaper. Access to and from the City is efficient. Operating costs are cheaper.”
Flatland Industries repairs and manufactures aggregate and mining equipment. Fasoli bought 2.5 acres at Fulton and built a 10,000-square-foot fabrication building.
Fasoli, who still owns another building in Calgary, says he will likely sell that and buy more land in Fulton for investment purposes. “It’s great here. It makes a ton of business sense and the location has a lot of potential as the City grows.”
The Fulton Industrial area is a 525 acre master planned industrial development with direct exposure to Highway 22x just east of Calgary in Rocky View County.
